Irma & a 12x12

We found out today my brother in law and his wife are heading our way Thursday (be here Friday)  evacuating their Florida home due to Hurricane Irma.

Last year in October we were at their house 2 days before Matthew hit.  Strange,  but so glad they called and are coming!  So, in the meantime I am rushing around getting the rest of the fall decor up, cleaning and stressing as they have never been here before and I have stuff piled everywhere- sigh.

Here is a 12x12 page I made yesterday.  I have plans for more but with this life twist I am not sure if I will be doing much crafting for the next few days-  family first!  Click on the photo to see it larger-

I used a 12x12 Early Espresso cardstock I had on hand for the base  then I took 2 of the Painted Autumn Designer papers and cut them corner to corner, trimmed off 1/4 inch from each of the square sides and placed on the 12x12.  I then used the Sunflower page from the designer paper and hand fussy cut the flowers and leaves while watching Downton Abby for the umpteenth time.  I used a tag that was tea dyed and scrunched a long time ago ( I had to iron it to lay flat but the wrinkles still show)  I stapled our 5/8" burlap Ribbon on the end and under it are the Foil Snowflakes to give it some glam pop.  The Soft Suedes are for the photos of my sunflowers I still need to print and put on there.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that I HAND journaled on the tag (shocking, yes but I did it!) with our Journaling Pen about WHY I like to plant Sunflowers every year in the garden.  The tag will pull out and go back in.  The Letters were cut from our 6x6 wood designer paper on my Silhouette Cameo.

I love the look- it's much better in person .  I apologize for the photo, I MUST remember to put on my reading glasses BEFORE taking a photo! lol

I hope you are safe, if you are in Irma's path in any way, pack your important things in the vehicle and GET OUT OF FLORIDA!

I have a great video for you tomorrow- and some photos of the decor I am working on in the house-  please stay tuned

See you asap

Gwen
