Over the last weekend I sewed this blouse. But, it's more like a jacket after I got it all done. So I wore it to work Monday over a vanilla long sleeved top. I don't think I will be making anymore of this particular pattern.
I have been sewing for 44 years now and making clothes for 38 years and I am terribly disappointed in the current quality of the sewing patterns. Missing pieces on the tissue, Cut them exactly and they don't match up in the assembly process and the directions, who writes these directions? Glad I sew by photo and previous knowledge!
This is my FAVORITE tool that I own! its a Bernina 910 the last of the style right before the computerized came out. I have had it 29 years and would love to have one dollar for every mile we have sewn together! lol (the orange quilt panel hanging on the wall is a Halloween one that Kay chose but we have yet to add the borders, so I hung it to see it and remind myself I need to finish it, it's been there 2 years now! lol) Facings Front Fronts with darts sewn in making the dart- I use chalk and a ruler- I use straight pins to mark the 3 dots and then use my ruler to draw with the chalk in the next picture a line to each dot making a V Ta Dah!
"Pink" cabbage roses are my FAVORITE of all for fabrics. I wore them in high school to when they were first coming popular. Now they are really hard to find and when I do I buy 4 yards of the fabric!
Hope you are inspired to sew something! I am ready to make more clothes and to get making some new quilt tops too~ stay tuned!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I plan to do more sewing this year.
Here is a dress I finished for Katie. She will be home in a week for a few days for a short visit and she can take it with her! I may not see her again till she graduates from Boot camp. sigh
I know it will look better on her than it does hanging in this photo! lol It's a fitted dress- not frump girl like it looks here- sheesh there is just no way to display it to get a good photo!
This is a skirt I made and a photo close up of the awesome fabric!
I couldn't use a flash or it would be to blurry- the fabric looks like tooled leather! I just love it!

Today I am sewing clothing and I have never been so disgusted, disappointed or frustrated with any clothing pattern as I am with the new ones. The directions are wrong or imcomplete, the sizes are not the same as clothing you buy in the store or the same as they have been in the past and patterns are missing or missized on the printed tissue.
I have been sewing for 44 years and this is absolutely rediculous!
