Ronald McDonald House needs Birthday Cards- PLEASE help!

Hi Everyone!

I am the lead representative through Stampin Up! for our local Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks in Springfield Missouri.

The RM house director emailed me this week asking for birthday cards.

Although we have a small group of demos that donate cards, we are struggling to keep up with the demand! We need your help!

Please donate birthday cards to this wonderful cause. They can be bought or hand made, but each card needs an envelope with it.  And if you can, please put a postage stamp on each envelope.  But it's not required.

Gather your friends together and use any supplies you have and create some birthday and Christmas cards that I can deliver to them before Nov 15th 2010.

Please mail them to me as I am the only authorized representative that is allowed to deliver them-  just email me for my address, I prefer not to post it here for spammers to receive!

Thanks for your help, you have all stepped up in the past when we have a request like this one-  anyone and everyone is invited to share birthday cards, thank you cards, holiday cards, so let's see how many we can deliver to them!

Photos of our work day:   I have no clue why my flash is dark, it's recently started to do this. I am thinking of taking it in to a camera shop to have the bulb replaced. argh!

We talked, we chatted, we oohed we aahed we decided we needed to do stuff together more often!  We really had a good time and it went a lot quicker than we had planned!

Friday Kay has the day off and he and I will take the 7 boxes of items in to the RM house of the Ozarks in Springfield, Mo.  I will do my best to remember the camera and have more photos to share on Saturday!

My integrity under question- RE: Ronald McDonald House donations

OH my gosh!  I have asked a few yahoo groups to donate items for the Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks scrapbooking project and now my "integrity" is under fire and being questioned!   Here is the official Stampin Up site http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/487.asp  to see that Stampin Up is a partner with Ronald McDonald houses all over the United States.

I have over 1200 DONATED card fronts in my studio sent to me by wonderful demonstrators and blog readers. 5 local demonstrator volunteers will be assembling those card fronts into cards on Saturday, here at my home. Donations from you the readers & people who are on yahoo groups with me include many scrapbooking items, rubber stamps and other supplies to numerous to list. 

I will have the house take photos of me with the manager when I deliver it all next week. I will then share them here because I have nothing to hide, nor am I trying to swindle anyone. My business ethics are in place and so is my integrity and I intend to keep it that way!

 

Thank you for your patience and your understanding and your continued support plus your wonderful donations to this project each time I ask you!  I love helping the RM house and this year if I have to do it alone, we will be donating our valuable time to the house with their scrapping projects! I am anxious for this opportunity. You see when my now 24 yr old son was born, his father (my ex hubby)  and I spent 3 days in the RM house in Seattle. So I know from a different angle how it all works and want to help other families. That is why I volunteered with Stampin Up! "To make a difference".

 

 

 

 

Your help is needed

First of all a BIG "Thank You" to all who are sending card fronts and scrapbooking supplies to fill our local Ronald McDonald house request.

We still need items for this project:

• Packages of white cardstock to make these card fronts into full cards. (our local demos have to assemble these before they can be delivered)

• We need envelopes to fit the cards, each card must have an envelope (white from walmart are fine!)

• We need Adhesives to put these together (please no glue sticks)

Please feel free to donate any items to the cause. Our local Ronald McDonald house appreciates all we do to help them with their projects. Supplies do NOT have to be limited to Stampin Up products, any and all products are fine!

 

In case you are not aware, I am the lead representative for our local Ronald McDonald house through Stampin Up.

Making a Difference

Stampin' Up!'s mission statement, called its Statement of the Heart, reads: "To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . . in this we make a difference."

To help fulfill this statement, Stampin' Up! launched its Making a Difference program in 2003. This program facilitates corporate giving and promotes service among demonstrators and employees.

Through the Making a Difference program, Stampin' Up! partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Each year, the company donates $100,000 to the organization. In addition, we design an exclusive stamp set to promote the partnership with RMHC, and donate a portion of the proceeds from the each sale of that set. To date, more than $95,000 has been donated from RMHC stamp set sales.

Stampin' Up!'s demonstrators are also encouraged to volunteer their time teaching local Ronald McDonald House guests the creative art of rubber stamping through the Making a Difference program. Demonstrators also create cards at training events which are donated to Ronald McDonald Houses. Those staying at the Houses then use the cards to keep in touch with loved ones while they are away from home.

 

Will you help me with our local House request for scrapbooking supplies of ANY kind or brand and for the supplies I listed above? Do you have supplies sitting around or left over from a project that you may never use and need the space for new items? Then contact me by email for my address so you can send them and I can take them to the RM house before the 20th of December!

Launching "BRING A SMILE TO A CHILD" Campaign

We are launching the “Bring a Smile to a Child” campaign to support the children and their families who stay at the Ronald McDonald house of the Ozarks.

 

We are asking paper crafters everywhere to make and donate birthday cards and envelopes. They will be distributed to our local Ronald McDonald house in

.  Our goal is to ensure that each Ronald McDonald house of the Ozarks Child, or their family members, receive a card from RM staff on their birthday.
