Yes you read correctly- Curtains Curtains Curtains
Today is rainy and drab- drab drab drab- last night we had a TORNADO.....
Our home teachers were hear about 7 pm and we chatted with them till about 8 pm- we love our home teachers!! And then I said- hey lets go get a pizza from Fox's pizza den. Kay called it in- and off we went. We no more than pulled into their parking lot when the tornado sirens went off- have you ever heard them? Well think Air raid siren from the war and you have it only multiply the sound by 3 or more and my heart went up into my throat- we ran in paid and drove home quickly. I know I know we should have stayed but we were only 4 minutes away from home so we chose to get home fast. We no more than stepped in the house when the torrential down pour started and was followed by horrific lightening and thunder. I rushed in to unplug the phone lines (last year I lost my modem even tho my computer was turned off so now we unplug the phone lines) and switched on the TV - oh gues what? No TV the satellite wasnt available due to the cloud cover- go figure! So we opted for the good old reliable radio! The lights flickered and the storm lasted about 2 hours. We heard the siren a couple more times but we decided to not hurry down to the storm room (aka my quilting room) because we didnt see any hail and the TV did come back on so we knew where the tornado went. North of us and kept going east. This is THE thing I hate about living here in the midwest. Number 2 is the bugs ! lol But, life goes on and so anyhow now to my REAL post
Here is my morning project- and now I have to get to my hair appointment (gonna wash that gray right outta my hair- are you old enough to recognize that tune from a commercial?)
This is one of my FAVORITE fabrics in the world! The dog is the spittin image of MY dog Tank and my life was all cowboy until marrying Kay 5 years ago. I CAN still rope, I CAN ride, I can vaccinate cattle, drive tractor and all that goes with it, but I never did it in a skirt ! lol
Here is our redecorated Guest room! We are fixing up this room for guests and scrapbookers or stampers who want to come for a weekend retreat! In a couple years we will have yet another room available for retreaters!
As you can tell, this room has a cowboy/western theme- The huge painting is of my Dad by Bill Swan the man who created the original mustang design for Ford and they only paid him 50.00 for it! Bill was one of my dads best friends. The Indian paintings you see in the room are by Bill and I will be adding more of his drawings as I get them framed. Click on the photo to see it larger. I still have a quilt to make specifically for this bed- its a double bed size. I am still in the planning stages for that.
More on this later- Have to get going-
Have a great day!
