Here is what happened on Friday's session of Leadership! WHY is it so FUN to be a Stampin Up Demonstrator?
Leadership 2014: Friday Wrap-Up
January 11, 2014
The second day of Leadership 2014 began bright and early in Houston as COO and president Rich Jutkins introduced the morning's keynote speaker, author Pat Pearson. As a professional business coach and licensed psychotherapist, Pat has spent many years sharing her expertise and helping others achieve success. Pat has appeared on CNN Radio, Fox Business/Money Break, ABC, and NPR, and is the author of four books: STOP Self-Sabotage; You Deserve the Best; Passion: Reclaiming the Fire in Your Heart; and Party with a Purpose.
After Pat's fantastic presentation, demonstrators enjoyed wonderful breakout classes. Topics included maximizing the occasions catalog, tax laws and direct sales, innovation in direct sales, and how to motivate your downline. (Then, of course, there was a fabulous class entitled "Not Your Mama's Workshop"! And it was every bit as crazy-fun and packed with ideas as it sounds!)
Demonstrators spent the rest of the afternoon checking out the booths in the Gathering Place and helping with the service project benefitting Houston's Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital.
During the evening, thrilled attendees experienced the first-ever Stampin' Night Out--where Make & Takes were offered in an entirely different way. While demonstrators created Make & Takes at a leisurely pace, Stampin' Up! superstars (from our excellent demonstrator training department!) provided Make & Take instructions and additional stamping projects from the stage--with the help of two big screens on either side of the presenter.
They also offered promotion, business, and project technique tips--including great advice on some of the latest trends (gold, dip-dye, and geometrics!). The overall consensus? It was a HUGE hit. Not only was the level of enrichment and learning during Make & Takes taken to new heights--but demonstrators were delightedly exclaiming: "I finished ALL of my Make & Takes . . . for the first time EVER!" Woo! It was so much fun. And the Make & Takes were adorable. Could it get any better? Yes! The evening also included prize patrols and an all-attendee giveaway.
All this training for pennies, and all this fun to boot! Leadership has always been my most favorite event of the year! As a manager I am able to attend one event for FREE each year, (all I pay is my travel expenses and food) and this year I choose to attend Convention In SLC because it is my 10 year walk across the stage.
I try my best to attend either Leadership or Convention each year. I love the classes, the samples, the free prizes from prize patrol!!!!! I get more for my money than any other class or event I attend AND I get to see my stamping contemporaies and friends! Stampin Up is by FAR the best company to be associated with!
