My use for Rub ons & Decor Elements

As I have been talking about, we are repainting and decorating my stamp studio.  I have added a few photos of the painting process to my "stamp room photo album". Here is a photo of what I did for my switch plates. You can see more photos in the photo album and all updated photos will just be added there.

Saturday we are building a set of shelves to go in the recessed area you see in the painting photos. Keep checking back to see how it progresses and what Decor Elements and unique techniques I have added to my walls and projects!

My new goodie!!!

Here is my new goodie! I just love it and wish I had room for one more!!  I have hung my ribbon (will hang more after I get another wire rack)  templates for various things, I emptied an entire drawer therefore I have more storage room in my drawers!  I hung my rub ons (albeit in a ziplock bag with a hole punched it it) but they are up where I can find them! YIPPEE!  I found in that drawer duplicates of the stencils that SU used to carry and will be putting the extras on Ebay soon along with my stamps-  I have had no time in the last week to deal with it because my daughter Katie has the horrid flu and is VERY sick.  Our family Dr won't be back until tomorrow (she had knee surgery) so at 8 am Tuesday we will be at the Dr. office for sure.

I had planned to have my room cleaned and some more organizing and purging done by now but that hasn't happened or looks to happen for a couple more days- argh!

Here is the rack that I bought it at the scrapbook store sale last week when Lisa and I had our day out. I am excited that I can hang hooks on the outside sides and hang more things there too!  It's 7 ft tall and about 42 or so inches wide ( I didn't measure the width!)

I hope your day is marvelous!

Burnt offerings

That is exactly what I feel like today, a burnt offering.  I am totally burnt out.

After a couple hours of cleaning this morning in my work area, I watched a bit of TV, made dinner in the crock pot, pulled out all my tupperware to fit lids to so I can eliminate the extra lids or bottoms without a lid and free up some cabinet space. I ate lunch and laid down to watch Forever young and feel asleep. I am off in an hour to pick up Katie for voice lessons and then home. I hope by then I have some energy and ambition!

Here are a couple photos from convention and I will see you here tomorrow with a fantastic project!

I found a tray at michaels and painted my own and I have made some cute cups similar to these, they are easy and fun and my customers love them!

NEW NEW NEW!!!

Check out what I purchased today with my 40% off coupon at Michaels!!

I envisioned it a bit larger because of the box size but seeing all the styro they have around it I see now why its not as big as I thought. I will be hanging it tonight in my stamp room and filling it with all kinds of fun things! When that is done I will post but first I have swap cards I am behind with and need to finish to mail and I actually have time this afternoon and evening to work on them ( I thought they were all due next week, turns out they were due last Monday, OH MY!)

I just received a phone call from some friends in the Ward and they need a mending job before our temple trip tomorrow. Here it is on my wall! It hung quick and easy! i think the ribbon will come off and I will remove the bar like I did on the bottom shelf so that I can sort out and see better all my reinkers. Right now I have them sorted by colors, blues, yellows, greens, pink and reds etc.  I am sure I will move and change and fuss with this off and on all the time! It gives me ideas for another unit I would like and will have hubby build!! (taller shelving so larger items fit)  See the pink coaster book on the left? that is 4x4 so that gives you an idea the size of the boxes.

I am off to start swap making!

later!

MY Retiring Sets

I drug mom to the stamp room this morning to help me pull all my retiring stamp sets, there are 107.(NOT counting all the hostess sets I have earned)  That leaves me with 90, yes NINETY left on my shelves.Retiring_sets_i_pulled

It is awesome that of these sets, I have only purchased about 1/3 of them and the other 2/3 I have earned for FREE from SU just by being a demonstrator!

This Photo doesn't show it but  the stamps are stacked 2 deep!

Retired_after_the_pull_90_stiill_le

My shelves look so bare! I am sure that will change in the next few months!

the majority of stamp sets I Still have are (bottom left) Holiday, next shelf up are greetings and monograms, and to the left are background stamps. I lost nearly all my flowers, kid sets and male theme sets.

After July 1 I will add all my "newly" retired sets to the retired list I already have!  Be sure to check them out.

hugs! G

Necessary Accessories for My Stamping!

Stamp_pad_holder Wheel_holder

Today I am sharing information about

some of the organizational items I use in my classroom/workshop.

The photo on the left is of my ink pad holder, as you can see I am out of room and I have stacked all the new colors on top. Well, I just emailed Zane (the maker of these wonderful creations) for a new holder, see his website at:  http://www.zaneswoodworks.com .

I absolutely LOVE these products and I am excited for my new ink pad holder to arrive.  As you can see, I have them hanging on my walls and I like that because they are off the counter or table tops and out of my way and I always know where to go for these items.  I will also ask Zane if he is making a wheel holder for the jumbo wheels yet.  When we lived in Boise, I drove 1 1/2 miles to Zane's house to pick up my order. (He's in Meridian, Idaho)  He's in his 20's or early 30's and has a really nice family! Anyhow, some of you have emailed me to ask how I organize my classroom/workshop and that is what prompted this post today.  I have more photos of on my webshots site (link listed in the left column) just click the folder that says; Gwen's Stamp Room.  Next year we are adding a cabinet and counter system along the wall with the cardstock and stamp sets , and then we will add full carpeting to the room.   I want to stamp the walls, but the things I have tried just do not suit me yet.  I tried the clear shelf paper mentioned but its to slick and it smears, I have searched for rolls of BLANK wall paper border and wallpaper to stamp on and came up empty handed. So if you know of any place that carries that kind of paper let me know!  I want to stamp on adhesive paper then cut the images out and put them on my walls.  I really want to use our Wild Rose stamp set for this project.  Time will tell.   Well, I have hot chocolate chip cookies to pull from the oven, I made a batch of fudge today also in prep for the holiday this week. Tomorrow will be the pies and thawing the bird and ham.  I am going to do something each day to make Thursday less work and more fun for the family.
