Downline meeting preparation

Today and tomorrow I am spending my time preparing for our Friday night group meeting. My downline and any other local demo are invited to attend. Leslie is talking about convention, showing her swaps, the items from momento mall, YES BUILD a BEAR will be here!!  She will also tell us what happened at convention and we will have 2 make and takes just like they made at convention!  We will have show and tell of our projects and a full card swap featuring items from the new holiday mini catalog!!

OH! I nearly forgot-   snacks!!  I hope someone brings chocolate..... ;o) hint hint.....

So over the weekend I will have meeting photos to share and put in the photo album. If you are a demonstrator within driving distance let me know by Wed you are coming and you can join us!

Show and Tell from last nights shoe box swap

 

Its an unwritten rule at meetings, that we bring samples of what we have been making for show and tell!  I LOVE IT! I love being a demonstrator and having the ability to see so many fun, fast and easy projects, to be inspired by my contemporaries and to ooo and ahhh over the projects! I love the inspiration that comes and I love all my demonstrator friends!! 

PS:  Kay has been working VERY hard on his next video and after all that taping we found a malfunction in the sound-  so we are working to get it under control and will have it ready soon!

Demonstrator Shoe Box Swap!!

Last night a group of local Stampin Up! Demonstrators got together at Cozy Cottage (where I teach classes) and we had a shoe box swap!

What is that?  One of  THE most fun get togethers that you can do!  Each person creates a project: card, 3-d or 6x6 page and then they cut up all the supplies needed to make that project for the amount of people who were coming-  last night we expected 8, but 5 shjowed up and 2 sent their projects so we had a total of 7 projects.  We set them around on tables and then we move from project to project making them !  It's one of my very favorite group meetings!  Leslie, Linda, Deb, Marla and I were there, and Jane and Sue sent projects.

  And now for the projects!! WOO HOOO!!

This is a photo of what the project looks like in the box- teh container doesn't HAVE to be a shoe box. but you get the idea. It's all pre cut and all items needed to create that project are in a box/container ready to use.

 

 

 my project is in my favorite thing-  a mesh metal basket from walmart! when I hold classes all my projects are in these metal or black metal mesh trays!  EASY!  My upline Carrie taught me this! then when my trays are empty I just stack them up out of the way!

   This is the CUTEST box made from the petal card die on page 199 in the catalog! WOW was it fun and easy!

 

The other card was the embossed front card I posted earlier this week!

Now, why do we do this?  WE love to stamp! WE love to get together and talk about our customers, our businesses, our classes, our projects, our families and we bring food.... its our demonstrator social outlet! Its one of my favorite parts of being a demonstrator! I get to socialize with friends who have similar interests, see new projects (will be sharing our show and tell tomorrow so be sure to come back) learn new techniques, use stamps I probably would not buy and take home several NEW Samples to show my customers and to use for ideas for upcoming classes !!  How could anyone NOT want to be a demonstrator and benefit from these kinds of perks!???

Tara, Jane, Sue, Tammy, Sandi, Lorie, Debbi  WE MISSED YOU!!! I hope you can come next time!!

Christmas eve already?

WOW!  Time flies no matter what doesn't it?

I saved photos from our downline meeting last week just to share with you today!

Merr, Jennifer, Chloe, Jane and my mom were here and we had a great time. I just adore these gals!  Fun, funny, talented and I am truly blessed.

Inside these stockings I put a gift certificate. I admit I don't do a lot during the year for their accomplishments, (I just plain forget) so I gave them both a certificate through me for FREE stuff from the 2008 S&S catalog! Merr already knew what she wanted  

before the meeting was over! I will be ordering it for her in January.  When Jane sends me her list I will order it in January also!  These stockings are made with a larger pattern from the fuzzy topped one I shared last week. I just put my pattern in the copier and enlarged it!

I used "Dashing Designer Paper" and stamped their names on the very vanilla cuff in real red classic ink. The stockings are "sewn" around the edges with a tiny zig zag, the vanilla was cut with a decorative pair of scissors. They were really fun and easy to make!

Merr brought Jennifer & Chloe to our party, isn't this an adorable photo of Merr and Chloe? Look at her outfit! Tooo stinkin cute!

Group Meeting

Last night was our group meeting and we had a shoe box swap.  Three of us attended and we made some really cute cards!  Jane brought cards for the Ronald McDonald house- thank you Jane!  And Merr brought her Christmas ornaments she has for her upcoming stamp camp.  We also had show and tell! Here are some of the photos I took! I love getting together with my group, we always have so much fun and great ideas and inspire each other.

Here are Jane (left) & Merr (right)working hard on their swaps. The next photo is a project Merr made as a teacher thank you.  She said the box template is on the demo website templates and the notebook, pen, sourcream container (filled with chocolate- what else lol) and the card are absolutely adorable!!  The designer paper Fall Flowers was used and is one of my absolute favorites! Well, that is all I have time to share today, check back tomorrow to see Merr's swap card and mine plus more projects!! I had to see the dentist today and it took all day. Next Tuesday I have a root canal and crown-  I forgot to buy my antibiotics with all the commotion of the play and stopping at the high school to drop off make up hairspray etc... And tonight I have a class teaching the Foster Mom's club how to use stamps in their scrapbooks! YIPPEE ! I am so excited because I love sharing with others~!  Have a great day!   

Group Meeting

What a wonderful morning! It rained here last night and now I wont have to go out and water !!! (happy dance) But, with 75-100 people coming for the pioneer celebration on Saturday I am still busy as a bee when the flowers pop open!  Today is house cleaning day (EW EW EW )

Tomorrow is weeding and grass mowing.  Anyhow, I am sharing with you today, 3 lovely cards that I received last night at our group downline meeting. Some of the gals didn't show up. Vanessa, Debi- where were you? you missed out on all the fun!

 

The colors in these cards just are not popping here like they do in person! these cards are just to die for!
