Saturday night we were blessed to take Katie and Duane to Branson to dinner and a show- We walked around my husband Kay's favorite shoppe- Kris Kringles and the store ( I forget the name) that has Dickens Dept 56 in it that he loves to collect. We always like to get a photo at the "big chair"
Then we had dinner at Shorty Smalls for the BEST food in Branson- wow- We had never eaten there before, but we will definitely be eating there the next time and the next time!
I forgot to get a photo to scrapbook of the suppers we had- but I did get the dessert! lol oh, and since Duane ate the biggest chicken fried steak, his roll and all his fries he was given a FREE Blackberry cobbler!
Katie and Duane had never been to it before. Duane just moved out here a week ago from Pendleton, Oregon and my daughter Katie is very happy and so am I.
Back in the 80's my husband sang barbershop with the Knutsen brothers in Utah- they are 6 very talented brothers- here is their website description "Dubbed “An Orchestra of Human Voices”, SIX combines the musical showmanship and boundless energy of six remarkable brothers (Barry, Kevin, Lynn, Jak, Owen and Curtis). Their intense high-octane energy, electrifying stage presence, and powerhouse vocals combine to create a truly amazing entertainment experience."
And of course, Katie grabbed a selfie of us during intermission !
Last night they had their last show of the season, their teenage kids sang the last 2-3 songs with them and their Dad played a white babygrand piano- it was fabulous. We had a really nice afternoon and evening. I am feeling very blessed this Christmas Season to have Katie and Duane here.
Today we will be attending the Young Single Adults Ward to hear Katie speak during the Sacrament meeting and then home to collapse! lol
I hope your Sunday Sabbath day is wonderful too!
Today I want to share something sent to me by a very special person in my life.
You may or may not remember that 2+ years ago July, my only Sister Pat passed away from a brain tumor. She was 14 years older than me and her daughter Michelle is 6 years younger than I am. Michelle and I have been more like sisters all these years. Maybe more than Pat and I were. This morning I opened a padded envelope laying on my desk that I had forgotten was there. Here is what was inside- It touched my heart so much I cried.
I am in total love with vintage Santas of all kinds.
They are all counted cross stitch and not small in size either! I have several pieces she has made over the years and it's always fun getting new, but this year with both of our moms gone and we just have each other now, it really really touched my heart and emotions and for today, I don't feel like an orphan.
Thank you Michelle! I love you most!

This made me cry at the end because it's so wonderful!
The previous record for the world’s largest live nativity scene, with 898 people, took place last year in the United Kingdom. That record was recently broken when 1,039 people dressed as wise men, shepherds, angels, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, participated in a huge production to re-create the Savior's birth as part of a larger movement for sharing the gift of Christ. The event took place at Rock Canyon Park in Provo, Utah and was witnessed by Guinness World Record judge Michael Empric.
The new world record resulted in a video collaboration of “Angels, from the Realms of Glory,” which included the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Piano Guys, David Archuleta, Peter Hollens, and many other Utah YouTubers, filmed by Devin Graham. The Organizers said that breaking the world record was secondary to highlighting religious faith over materialism.
Mormon Tabernacle Choir member Siope Kinikini, who was present said, “Many of us who were strangers at the beginning of the night, sat in smaller circles talking about the night Christ was born. There was a real feeling of love with everyone there.” Holly Abel, who is also a member of the Choir added, “I honestly came home feeling that I had spent an evening with angels that night. There were ‘earth angels,' and I suspect there were plenty of angels from the other side participating as well.”
The event was heavily promoted on social media and attracted Nathan Hutson of Montana. He said, "The fact that this is an interfaith event is absolutely wonderful. It allows everyone to say—despite our differences in religion—we are all celebrating the birth of Christ."

How did it become December so FAST? Yikes!
Between undecorating the fall stuff, putting up the Christmas stuff, a nasty sinus infection and getting decorations ready for Friday's church Christmas party, I have hardly had time to post let alone breathe.
Kay, Katie and I had a very nice and uneventful Thanksgiving. We threw a turkey breast in the crock pot, made just our favorite foods and watched movies and ate!
We red boxed Malificent. It's a fun movie! We ended up buying in on Black Friday for only 9.96 in blu ray at walmart! It was cheaper at Walmart than it was at Sam's Club! I went out on Black Friday only to get supplies for the church party at discount. I never shop on that day and it sure wasn't as busy as we hear about! I guess most people shopped on Thanksgiving- I personally think stores should be closed by 1pm on that day and open again at 5 am the next!
Here are some photos I took Wednesday of my decorating progress. Tomorrow when the church is set up for the party I will get photos of all the decorations I have made and share them.
I know these photos are not "professional" they are from my cell phone. But I am hoping they share a part of me with you this season and give you some ideas or inspiration for your own decorating!
Stampin Up has a lot of wonderful specials going on, you can see them at this link.
I don't want to bombard you with advertisements and selling this season like everyone else is doing online, you know where to look for that. I want to share a bit of my life with you and my thoughts on the Reason for the Season. I will do my best to post every couple of days during December. My prayer is for you and your family to have health and happiness as we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Yesterday I shared the box I made while Linda and I were crafting.
Well here are the 2 cards I made using the Nordic Noel Designer Paper. It's a white card base and the house border is attached using dimensionals for the 3-d effect. The cards are quite cute in person!
I used the coordinating clear stamp set to stamp Santa & his sleigh/reindeer
Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set 135095 There is a set of house framelits that go with this stamp set too!!!! You can see it all HERE
Here are all 3 projects together- I am in LOVE with these houses!
I tried to keep the cards simple for postage purposes. I keep hearing the word SIMPLIFY when I am creating lately, so that is what I am trying to do. (heavy sigh)
I still have enough of the 1 sheet of designer paper for another set of 2 cards and a box!

It's easy and fun using this tool to create boxes up to 4'"x4" in size. It took an entire sheet of 12"x12" cardstock to make and then I used the FUN house borders from the Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper 135822
I used real red cardstock to create the box, then I cut out the houses and decided I needed a background on the box for them so I cut Crumb Cake cardstock and then ran it through my crimper to look like cardboard. the extra piece I used the new tag punch to make tags out of. The crimped paper is not attached to the box, just like it's a belly band.
The houses were cut along the bottom with our cutter in a straight line and then I hand cut the tops and they are adhered to the box with dimensionals. It is MUCH cuter in person than in these photos from my phone!
We took a break at lunchtime and had a wonderful lunch at Specialty Sweets here locally.
The Wednesday after Thanksgiving we are meeting here again to make STAR Boxes from the Star Framelits and I am SURE another couple of cards too~!
