The moment I opened the pack of Natural Composition Specialty Designer Paper and saw that it was already embossed I KNEW I would be coloring it!  Here is what I have done so far today using our new  IN Colors

I began with the naturals cardstock, you can see its already embosssed in clear-  there are 6 different pattened papers to choose from  click HERE to see them

 I used Stampin Up!  blender pens and colored in various colors to see how it applied and how I would  like it

Then I grabbed my Stampin Up Sponges and started applying the color, I have to admit these new Incolors are GORGEOUS and leave such a RICH color. It sure helps that the ink pads are so juicy also!

It's official, I will HAVE to replace all my ink pads now for these new ones because they are wonderful to use! WOW Who would have thought! This small experiment has made a believer out of me today!







These are just 4"x4" squares of 3 of the 6 different papers. I think my favorite of all is the Midnight Muse color. I will be cutting a piece and sponging it in Midnight Muse to make the cover of a book- YES TODAY! So stay tuned for more posts about this!  I do like the Gumball Green but my 2nd favorite is the Raspberry Ripple in the photo above of the ink pads with the samples, it's the far left color. WOW this is going to be an amazing combination for upcoming Christmas projects!

I have to say that from this experiment altho the Summer Starfruit is nice, it's not me. But when I used it above in the flowers it mixed VERY well with Pumpkin Pie so that will be an amazing combo for fall!

I love that I didn't HAVE to emboss this cardstock so there was no stressing over placement of a stamp, getting it straight, etc... This is definitely my favorite paper from the new catalog so far!  I am going to try a few other techniques with it- brayering, watercoloring etc.....

Unfinished Project Day.....

Yes, today is work on unfinished projects day! I just hope I can do that without starting anything NEW first! lolol Maybe I will just clean off the last table and begin a new book..............

I will be sharing photos this evening.   My Friend and downline Annette is coming this afternoon and we have BIG PLANS.  

So far today I have sold the lawnmower, put the money in my daughters account for gas money to drive home, set the sprinkler and moved it and set it and moved it- and I am ready to get to my room and create!

Summer Menu

CROCK POT COLA HAM 
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 cup cola
3 to 4 pound pre-cooked ham 

1. Combine brown sugar and mustard. Moisten with cola to make a smooth paste. Reserve remaining cola. 
2. Score the ham with shallow slashes in a diamond pattern. Rub ham with mixture. 
3. Place ham in crock pot and add remaining cola. 
4. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then turn to low and cook for 6 to 7 hours.

Crock Pot Pulled Pork Sandwiches 
Ingredients
2 1/2 lb. or larger Pork shoulder or butt
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 C. balsamic vinegar
1 can chicken or pork stock
1 C. water
Spice mix: your choice of spices or the following:
4 Tbs. of chicken and rib rub
2 Tbs. of garlic salt
2 Tbs. of steak grill seasoning
1 Tbs. of light brown sugar or dark
BBQ sauce:
1 bottle of Kraft honey bbq sauce
1/3 C. packed brown sugar light or dark
4 Tbs. of balsamic vinegar

Directions
Rub spice mix on pork. Place pork in Crock pot and put onions and red bell peppers over the top of the pork and all around the Crock pot. Pour stock, vinegar, and water over the pork. Set Crock pot on high and walk away for 6 to 8 hours. After you have taken your pork out, discard cooking Juices and let meat rest for about 10 minutes or until comfortable to touch. Shred pork with a fork and return to Crock pot. Pour BBQ sauce over the meat, mix together and you are done. 

BarBQ Slow Cooker Chicken
Ingredients
• 2-3 lbs chicken
• 1 cup catsup
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
• 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/3 cup water
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper
• 2 to 4 tablespoons butter, optional
• 1/4 cup lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon paprika
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce + 2 tablespoons sugar, optional

Instructions
1. Heat all ingredients except lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil. 
2. Add lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce and heat until hot. Pour over skinned and cleaned chicken. 
3. Cook in slow cooker for about 6-8 hours on low. 4-6 hours on high.

Molly’s Potato Salad
2lbs of Klondike potatoes, cut into chunks (not little pieces)
½ to ¾ cup of Hellmman’s Mayonnaise
3 hard cooked eggs, chopped
1 stalk of celery, thinly sliced
2 Tablespoons of dill pickle relish

Cook potatoes in boiling water in saucepan for 15 minutes. Place warm potatoes in a large bowl. Add mayonnaise and toss to coat. Add eggs, celery and dill pickle relish. Mix lightly and add more mayonnaise if needed. Refrigerate for several hours or until chilled. We like to make this a day ahead of time. NOTE: use a glass or Tupperware bowl and never use metal utensils in any salad or dish with mayonnaise. 

For the Kiddies---
Chocolate Chunk Marshmallow Sundae
2 packages (3.9oz each) of sugar-free Chocolate Instant Pudding
2 cups of low fat milk
1 (8oz) tub of Cool Whip topping, thawed
1 cup of Jet-Puffed Kraft Marshmallows
4 squares of Bakers Semi-Sweet Chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 cups of fresh strawberries

Beat pudding mixes and milk in bowl with whisk for 2 minutes. Stir in Cool Whip, marshmallows and chocolate. Spoon into a 2qt. freezer safe bowl; cover. Freeze for 4 hours or until firm. Scoop into dessert dishes and garnish with strawberries.

Watermelon Salad
8 cups of loosely packed, torn Boston lettuce
2 cups of seedless watermelon chunks (1 inch)
¾ cup of quartered cucumber slices
1/3 cup thin sliced red onion slices, separated into rings
1/3 cup Kraft Light Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing
1 Tablespoon of Hellmman’s Mayonnaise with Olive Oil

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Whisk dressing gradually into mayonnaise until well blended. Add to salad; toss to coat. Serve chilled.

Very Stressful 24 hours

The last 24 hours have been more stressful than I hope to encounter for years to come!

No more wedding plans for my daughter with that guy- EVER~

Both of my Son's moving Katie today to oldest sons house for the week. GO BOYS! ;o)

Kay flying out Friday night to drive her home "permanently".

No creativity left in my worried old stressed out mothers bones, at least not for today.

BUT!  I have a wedding for my step son to work on, so those favor boxes I need to create this week in the evenings and I will post them here. Their colors are blue and yellow with a silver accent and a winter (no snowflake) theme-  icicles?????  No clue, but will do what I can as I volunteered to make their favors!

Hope your family is all fine and well. Ours will be in a week or so!

Have you seen these??? WOW!

I am so excited I can hardly type!   Received an order yesterday and when I opened the package.................. I was in for a WONDERFUL surprise!

By now you are probably wondering what the heck I am talking about! lol

Well, when I saw the Natural Composition Specialty papers # 126917 on page162 of the new catalog, I immediately assumed they were like the First Edition Specialty papers-  sorta like newsprint paper, no gloss etc...    SURPRISE! They are THICK cardstock paper and have this WONDERFUL gloss finish on the design! YAHOO! I can't wait to use them! I will definitely be ordering a LOT of this paper! Basically they are ALREADY clear embossed on the designs! Woo hooo!!!

And to my pleasant surprise thePolka Dot Parade # 126902 on page 164 is GORGEOUS in person! The dots are larger than I expected and the colors are to DIE FOR! I love the catalog but it's like any catalog the products are ALWAYS better in person! So come on over and check it all out with me!

Monthly Card class will begin soon (details coming)  we will meet once a month to make 4 cards in 2 hours (max).  The class will be $20.00 and will meet on a week night at 6:30-7ish AND another class on a Saturday Afternoon about 4ish.

Like I said, details coming!  This will be a prepaid class just like the stores in town, we all have to pre pay and sign up for the class. All my classes will now be this way. Preregistration with payment due at registration.

They are going to be so much fun to create with and a definite reorder for the dots is in my mind too!

I hope your day is exciting too and filled with love and joy and creativity! My sweetheart Kay will be home tonight he has been in Minneapolis on business since last Sunday - the dirty brat was at Mall of America without me! GASP!

Scrapbooking!

I created this 12x12 page of my Son Ray and Grandson Jack!!!

They are so stinkin cute together!  Like I said in the caption- they may be Father and Son but they are BEST friends!

I used My Digital Studio one of the page templates and I changed the papers and colors a bit and added the mats to the photos.  Fun Fast and easy! I can't believe my little Jack will be in Kindergarten this fall- sigh..... and that Ray my oldest is now 30. I remember when he was just 5 and rough and tough and full of stuff!

The ONLY part of living here in Missouri that I dont like is being so FAR from my kids and my grandkids. sniff sniff-

Good news is that in January I will get to see them at Kasey and Jessica's wedding in Boise and then again in June for Katie and Mitch's wedding!

Garden Work

I have been spending all my free time in my garden and yard, Next year at this time Katie will be getting married and then they will have a reception here in our yard so anything I can do now to help for that is very necessary~ lol

This morning I woke to more destruction by deer out there and I am determined to put up a deer fence this weekend to stop it! I am tired of working myself to death to grow food to CAN and put in our food storage and have critters destroy it! I have had enough! so off to the farm store Friday after work for supplies!
