Fishin'

I am in love with this song and it's meaning-  After listening to it over and over, I ask myself: "I wonder what MY Dad did that was like "just fishin" with me so that he had one-one time with just me.....:  Someday I hope to ask him because quite frankly, I just don't really remember.  I know we played games together and he taught me to drive, took me for a root beer and out to breakfast once a month, I will continue to pick my pea little brain for other things. I wonder if doing those things  were to just have time with me?

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do and that it inspires you to create some scrapbook pages about you & your dad and what you did "just fishin".  I will be putting together a My Digital Studio page with my memories and a few photos (I have to get them scanned to my computer, there was no such thing as digital cameras when I was kid lol) later on this week.

Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest, dimension, and color to your cards, tags, and scrapbook pages. You can glue punched shapes directly onto your projects or layer a sheet of card stock that has been punched over a coordinating card stock for a reverse effect. ■ New, sleeker body style ■ Larger surface area offers precise cutting and leverage ■ Locks to store

Do you have questions on your 3/16" Corner Punch? Is it working the way you had hoped? If you're having trouble achieving the results you want, try these tips:

• Make sure your paper is cut square. Your paper should have straight sides for the punch to work properly. 
• Your paper should fit snugly into both edges of the guides and into the back of the punch. It is critical that you don't try to center the paper by looking through the bottom of your punch;  instead, align your paper using the guides. 
• Set the paper fully into both guides, as well as the back of the punch, almost pressing your paper down into the guides by curling the outside edge of the paper up. Push your paper flush against the guides as far as it will go into the back of the punch. If your paper isn't fully set against both guides, you will not get a good, clean punch. 
• If you don't get a perfect corner, try centering your paper in the guides and punching again; your design should punch correctly. Don't worry; sometimes it takes some practice.
• Be sure to Cut only "one sheet" at a time. This punch is designed to cut only one sheet of card stock or Designer Series Paper at a time.

Here in Springfield, Missouri we have Andy's Frozen Custard instead of traditional Ice Cream- ITS so MUCH better than regular ice cream I can't even begin to tell you!  So this week I saw a card on a yahoo group post and KNEW I would love to create something like it for today's card class!!

Here is my card and then below is what the kit has in it- all you have to do is assemble it when it comes and there is NO stamping in the card unless you want to use your own stamp set for your sentiment inside.

All you have to do is assemble the cards when the kit comes and there is NO stamping in the card unless you want to use a stamp set you own for the sentiment inside. Excellent for invitations, thinking of you, thank you, birthday, congratulations and more, and easy for kids to assemble too!

• Use YOUR stamped saying for the inside greeting
• You will need an adhesive like our Snail adhesive, to adhere the cardstocks together.

Butterfly Quilt Blocks

At the Butterfly Festival they had a couple butterfly quilts and several blocks you could vote on-

This beautiful Block (above) is made by my Customer and friend Cindy Lubbert of Strafford!

Notice these ribbons-  click on the photos to see them larger but I just LOVED the ribbons/awards, I wish I had gotten a close up of them!

The next little guy is such a happy butterfly, I just couldn't not get his photo!

Aren't they beautiful? There were more but with it so scorching HOT and even though we were in the Botanical Building- the kids were ready to get going so I didn't get a photo of them all, only about 1/2.  What a fabulous day!

Butterfly Festival Day!

We had the BEST Saturday yesterday! We met up with our adopted family the Buckners at the Butterfly Festival held at the Botanical Gardens in Springfield, Missouri and although it was scorching HOT, we had a fabulous time!

We visited the vendor booths while the girls played on the playground.  Kay and I joined the Hosta Society and the Daylilly Society as well as met some awesome gardeners and found out tonight we WON the Hosta plants at the Hosta Society Booth! woo hoo!

 

We all gathered at the Butterfly House to watch the release of 50 Butterflies! Kayley was able to be one of the kids who released one!

 


And then after the kids left Kay and I wandered around the gardens, took photos of ourselves....

We were able to see the Campbell-Gray Homestead = evidently he is the man who began Springfield as a town way back when-  

OF course we have a TON more photos but they are all going into an 8x8 My Digital Studio Album and 2 copies will be printed!!
