Baby Quilt I made for Maggie

You will hear me talk about our "adopted granddaughters" Kayley and Maggie-  well the family is in our church ward family and they are the ages of our own kids who live so far away. They have graciously adopted us into their family and now we are adopted grandparents to 2 darling girls ages 3 and 1 month!  Woo hoo! We are so very excited!

Here is a photo taken at the baby shower for Maggie 2 weeks ago, you can "almost" see her head behind the quilt lol, I am on the right, Stephanie the mom in the middle and Katie my daughter on the left.

She is so adorable! Kay and I are truly blessed! Thank you James, Stephanie, Kayley and Maggie for adopting us! We love you.

Here is my quick digital entry- this is my dad and my first born Ray. The moment I read this challenge this photo jumped into my mind. My dad has been gone 14+ year now and my son is named Ray after my dad Raymond Ellis Davison my son is Raymond Lee Gamble and is now 27 yrs old. Dad used to come get Ray after he was potty trained every morning about 9 or 9:30 (before seat belts were even close to being a law) and Ray would stand next to dad in his pickup truck with his arm around Grandad's neck while he drove. They would go to the post office, to visit old friends of dads, to the DQ for a cone, and then home in time for lunch almost daily!
So many good memories of their relationship and when dad died it was on Ray's 13th birthday. I am thrilled with these challenges on Soul Scrappers! They have me scrapbooking!  I will have this professionally printed by SU as a single page and put into Ray's scrapbook. I may never have created this without this challenge!  C'mon over to my blog or studio and let's create together!

So Far this morning.....

I have made a pot of homemade chicken soup and its simmering on the stove, yesterday I threw an entire tray of chicken breasts from Sam's Club into the crock pot to cook, for the soup I shredded some of that chicken added veggies, stock base, salt and pepper and now we wait!  I also made a loaf of homemade bread in the bread machine, put the dogs out watered and fed them

and took a few snow shots of our storm  and a couple batches of laundry, read my email, played a game on facebook, replied to Soul Scrappers comments and yes, took a breath in there somewhere!

This is my doggie, his name is TANK. He is border collie, kelpy and mcnab- in other words he is a REAL Cow dog with no cows anymore! lol kinda like me a born ranch gal who no longer has  a ranch. ( I am ok with that just miss my horses!)

He is about 14 yrs old and I have had him since he was about 2 but he is out of our old cow dog Toby the border collie.  I made him a warm bed on the front porch. He is such a funny dog! I just love him. He has one white eye and one brown and no, he isnt blind in the white eye- its a genetic thing - freaks people out!  lololol

 ok friends, now that some of my chores are done, I am headed to my studio until soup time! WIsh you were here to join me for lunch today!

we have an inch of snow and its still snowing- not the 6-8 they threatened us with but as long as I have electricity for heat I am good! off to the studio for some fun creating!

Birthday Stamp a Stack Card Class

Wednesday afternoon was my Birthday Stamp a Stack class, one of several I hold during the year. We create 4 cards 4 of each for a total of 16 cards. I LOVE using our Idea Book and Catalog for ideas and inspiration and I totally cased this card from it! Its such a wow card in person how could you not use the idea!

this card uses the 2 tags big shot die, large corner rounder, scallop punch, embossing folder and SAB stamp set!  its gorgeous in person the colors are taken with teal, always apricot and cameo coral and I got the colors right off our color coach!  Easy and fun card to create!

SO EASY to recreate! but next time I am putting my brads in further on the punch piece!

ok this card I saw on Stampin Connection our new Demo only ning group from Stampin Up! It was originally created by Shannon West from the corporate office and it is so elegant and so vintage and so EASY and so FUN and and and.. lol  I am going to create some scrap pages using this idea!

and more cards for my card keeper box!  the strip is faux suede technique adn the rest is on very vanilla cardstock and I clear embossed the flower from vintage vogue and then used my sponge dauber to apply all the ink on it., I use a sponge for the edges. the ink is soft suede. I am so in love with this card! This is also the card my Wednesday girls chose to make for their project this week. Wait till they see next weeks project they are going to love it!

Traditional & Digital Scrapbooking pages and news from home

Over at Soul Scrappers we are having daily challenges and I entered 2 of them this week.  One was for limited supplies and the other for a digital page about "me"

Here is my traditional limited supply page  of my grandson Jack

our task was to use, ribbon, cardstock, journaling pen and rub ons

altho this is a very quick basic page, when I was going through my pile of Jack photos this one jumped out at me and said I MISS MY GRAMMIE!  (not at all what is going on in the photo but who cares right? lol)  and I just threw this page together in no time and it probably looks that way too lol sorry for that but this 6x6 page will be put on a 12x12 page with lots of other elements and more photos

Now you see why I use stamped sayings, journaling made from the computer etc lol my writing has turned into mush with so much time on the computer! lolol

Now for my digital page- I used My Digital Studio and created a page about me- the time frame for these photos is in about 1999  (do you ever hear that prince song when you say 1999- now I hope I can get it out of my head before class today! lol) remember you can click on the photos for a larger view-

 This is my mom and I one day while I was working in my 2 acre Organic Market garden- I dont remember who took it probably one of my sons.  My mom now has alzheimers and this week has been told to use a wheel chair.  I love my mom and it is so hard to see her go through this debilitating disease ( I hope I spelled that right).  We have always been very close, lived close to each other and worked on many many projects together.

Using my digital studio made creating this page so FAST!! WOW! I added photo frames for the 2 photos on the left put in - yes you got it JOURNALING because I have confessed before how much I HATE journaling!  Thanks to Erika and the gals at Soul Scrappers I am making time to journal more. My problem is I have to much to say! lol

Remember that each page you create regardless of the method is a "work of heart" and will be cherished for years to come!

I have 2 classes here today=  my Wednesday stamp group and a Birthday stamp a stack this afternoon- and lunch with Kris in between! woo hoooooooo!!!

On a somber note- My ex Father in law Frank Gamble, passed away this week, Altho he and I didnt always see eye to eye, I have a great respect for his work ethic and the help he gave to me during the years I knew him. May he rest in peace and our families find solace in knowing he no longer suffers.

My customer Kris Keuhler was inspired by Kay's video on the Melted Crayon technique and she created these amazing cards and brought them to scrap night to show us!  We LOVE it when people show us samples of what they have created using our videos, or ideas!
