Many years ago Oprah ecouraged us to keep a gratitude journal. Just a note book and pen by the bed and each night going to bed write in it what we were grateful for that day. (of course it wouldnt hurt for it to be decorated on the front cover!)
I don't know what happened to mine since I remarried, but I have recently reimplemented this idea and I recommend you give it a try. In this journal can be things as simple as: food to eat, electricity, job, sunshine, no rain or no snow that day, birds singing, smile from a stranger, or a phone call from a friend during the day. Then when you are feeling down, re-read your entries and remind yourself of all the things you have to be grateful for, because my friends we have plenty of them in our lives. We get so focused on the bad, we forget the good and that is when the pity party begins!

You are so right, dear friend! We usually don't give what we have a second thought until we hear of someone losing their home or their job, or someone suffering in poor health. It could happen to any of us tomorrow! We take so much for granted...even the people who mean the most to us, and even life in general! So dear friend...I am so grateful for YOU!
