Photo show & tell of some of my work "so far today" as I eat my lunch while photos load! lol  Yes, my day is that busy (sigh) and tomorrow even busier! I am looking forward to a day off on Friday to go to Tulsa with Lisa for a craft fair!  

We have a downline/orphan group meeting tonight and here is our make and take

 

This was easy to make using our new big shot and die cuts plus those adorable felt flakes from the holiday mini!  Brads from our pretties kit and taffeta ribbons make it all pop.  Oh, and I used white craft ink on the tips of both scallops then dipped it in my dazzling diamonds!  Great tag, or ornament!  I am going to have to make a bunch of these for me for gifts and to sell on the 2nd at a craft booth I have.

Now, I have journaling left and these pages of Jack are finished

   

I love our big shot!  The leaves were so fun to make using it and our fall designer papers! The journaling on the bottom left is a rub on from Stampin Up! The large brads are from my collection and the image on the right is better seen in the previous post of these pages before photos were added. I used the cuttle bug and the fall folder for it.  Some of the leaves are popped up with dimensionals and I need to journal in the bottom 2 right tags.  I am so thrilled with the Stampin Up Cardstock and the excellent quality, but most of all with the photos of Jack!

Featured Artist & Cuttlebug Highlights Technique idea

This card is so cute I just had to get permission to share!! Donna is on Technique Junkies email group too, and I found her post in my in box this morning- AWESOME!

 

Donna Duquette  is our featured artist today be sure to click her name and visit her blog and let her know I sent you!   Her description on the email said: "

I think I'm stuck on this technique, LOL!  This time I gave it a different spin and brayered the embossed design with Versamark, and then embossed the embossing with clear EP.       Stamps:  none!"

 

Personally, I am working on kits-LOTS OF KITS!   I have had a fantastic response to kits by mail - card kits, recipe book kits and the technique book.  I first had to put together the cards and supplies for tomorrow nights cards galore class #2, and I am making a few projects with the gorgeous cardinal stamp in the mini catalog today so stay tuned for that post tomorrow.  I also have to "find" my work table, my tool table and my floor in the room before guests arrive! lol Toimorrow I have TOPS and more kit making, on Wed Kris is coming to stamp at 11 am,  and in the evening is our group meeting for orphan demos and my downline.  I always love these meetings and card swaps! I think I am going to collapse on Thursday lol (ya like that can happen) and then keep making kits to get in the mail! Oh I nearly forgot the Homemade Gourmet gathering this week too! As my mom would say-  "no rest for the wicked" lol gotta love those momisms!

Hope you are all having a productive day too! I did go to curves this am and I can sure feel it all over! lol but its a good feel bad kinda thing you know? lolol

First Presidency Urges Respect, Civility in Public Discourse

Five months ago, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sent a letter to members of the Church in California, encouraging them to join the millions of other Californians from many religious denominations, ethnic groups and political persuasions in a broad coalition to defend marriage as it has been defined for millennia.

During the election campaign, both sides of the argument on Proposition 8 had ample opportunities to express their viewpoint. The result was conclusively in favor of traditional marriage. More than 40 states in the United States have now voted to protect traditional marriage, either directly or through their elected representatives.

Today the First Presidency issued this statement about the democratic process:

Since the people of California voted to reaffirm the sanctity of traditional marriage between a man and a woman on November 4, 2008, places of worship have been targeted by opponents of Proposition 8 with demonstrations and, in some cases, vandalism.  People of faith have been intimidated for simply exercising their democratic rights. These are not actions that are worthy of the democratic ideals of our nation.  The end of a free and fair election should not be the beginning of a hostile response in America.

The Church is keenly aware of the differences of opinion on this difficult and sensitive matter. The reasons for this principled stand in defense of marriage have already been articulated elsewhere. However, some of what we have seen since Californians voted to pass Proposition 8 has been deeply disappointing.

Attacks on churches and intimidation of people of faith have no place in civil discourse over controversial issues.  People of faith have a democratic right to express their views in the public square without fear of reprisal.  Efforts to force citizens out of public discussion should be deplored by people of goodwill everywhere.   

We call upon those who have honest disagreements on this issue to urge restraint upon the extreme actions of a few that are further polarizing our communities and urge them to act in a spirit of mutual respect and civility towards each other.

   Camp Cupcake Card- sorry you missed the class! We had a blast and I sent out 11 kits by mail. Most of my classes can be done by mail!

 

CONTAIN YOURSELF!!!

 

Yesterday was Kay's Friday off, so we headed to St Louis (3.5 hr drive one way) for 2 reasons, The Container Store and a trip to the Temple! We had a wonderful day! (nope, no Archivers this time lol)

I am in love with the Container Store!!  PLUS:  I had one of Oprah's special coupons and a lady gave me an extra, so we saved on both sales we made yesterday! Even betta!

Here is ONE of our new projects.  This one is for my studio and I already have it full of my tools by my tool table!

 

 

I love this and hope to get a huge type rack like these behind my door and eliminate the plastic ones that aren't working so well anymore.

We have a shelf project for behind the pantry door, so off to help with that. I will share photos of it tomorrow!

 I am so excited! We had our first meeting today and it was great! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better and networking with them. We have just today put together a Fall Fair & Open House for Dec 2 at the Senior Center in Rogersville, 7-9 pm.

Santa Tags!

I have spent the last week trying to get these finished for a swap-  I finally got them all done last night- phew!  I am glad they are done!

 

I used my big shot and my sizzix die for the tags,  and punches for the Santa!

 

All cardstock, punches, dimemsionals, glue dots, inks, and tombow liquid glue are from Stampin Up!  the fluffs are from Michaels and the die cut is sizzix originals. (had it for about 8 years now)

hope your day is wonderful, I am sorry for the later post today- I had CURVES this morning, and way to many phone calls to make and even receive, computer problems, and teenagers to see to!

Today's Tip

Our Stamping Tip today comes from Ann Clack In Oregon (Ann and I are on a couple of stamping email lists and this was her post today and It was so good I just had to share with all of you!)

This is a great tip for your StazOn pads.  That annoying little plastic cover is really necessary to keep the pad from drying out.  In order to keep it with your pad and not lost on your desk, take some dimensional foam tape and put it on the inside of the Stazon pad lid......you may have to do two layers.  Put the clear plastic lid on then the pad lid and press so that the foam tape sticks to the clear plastic lid.  Voila!  The clear plastic lid will stay with the pad lid without getting lost!

Today is a full day for me-  I am going in to join CURVES, buy straw for the dog pen, do laundry, finish the tags for the swap I am in, put away all my mess in the studio and ramrod teenagers.

Oh! LRHS goes to Verailles today for one hot football game! I wish I could go, but alas, work keeps me home.  GO WILDCATS!
