Group Meeting last night was awesome!

 Downline and other orphan demos came to our group meeting last night here at my house and we had so much fun!  Here is the Make and Take that Leslie brought- it is one she made at convention and here is my version-

 

I am in love love love with this stamp! I am so glad I ordered it and it shipped yesterday!

And here is the make and take I came up with using the Big Shot and top note die, basic black c/s, ghostly greetings dsp ( I am in total love with this dsp!), black classic ink, 2 black brads a staple for the top of the cello bag, cello bag and house of haunts stamp set! All Stampin Up and all Copyrighted by SU 1988-2008  cept for the candy corn! lol

I am adding a new photo album titled Group meetings and all the photos I took last night are going in there-  check it out later today!

Now, off to get ready for the day = Sensaria SPA party here today at 1- can you come or would you like to order? My favorite items they have are- rosemary mint hand cream, peppermint and tea tree foot polish, and the foot mask-  refreshing and delightful- oh, did I mention the massage oils?

Machine Applique

 

I am excited to tell you that I took a machine applique class yesterday at the Quilt Sampler from my Friend Karen.  I haven't done any machine applique in about 12 years or maybe even longer.  I had a great time and the refresher class and learning all the new tricks and items was so worth it for me!  I am going to get back into my quilting this winter or else and this was a great way to start.

My project is a snowman stocking-  grant it I have the snowman a bit low on the stocking, considering I was the first person finished (yes finished all but the buttons) lined my stocking and everything- I think I did pretty well.  When we first moved here and I found the store they had a pumpkin quilt block of the month club and its all applique- well I bought all 12 of the blocks- er the supplies and they are waiting in my room to be sewn.  Now I am going to start workign on them even if I only sew one a month I can have my "fall pumpkin" quilt for next year!

 

Here is my stocking-  yes the red and the mitten cuff are flannel and left overs from the snowman quilt I made last year (you can find the posts under the quilts subject catagory)  I will do several things different next time, like  put the snowman further up on the sock-make the pillow and use a lighter color for his twig arms so they show up better- but this will make a cute addition to my bedroom decor to coordinate with my quilt!

 

Not to shabby after all! Wow was I tense tho- I know what a good job I used to do so my shoulders were really stiff and I started to sweat! lol We all had a good laugh and I got up walked around the store bought a pattern for a quilt to use up scraps and ate a cookie (shhhh) and was ok after that lolol-  Thanks Karen for your patience and encouragement! See you tonight here at the meeting! (my turn to make her sweat roflol)

now- this came in an email this morning and the country farm girl in me HAD to share it!

  how cools is this to see from the air in a field?  wow!!  FARMERS ROCK!

I am up early as my family is now up and going at 5 am through the school year. It is 6:20 am now and I have to get ready for the day and finish my stamp  room we are having a downline and orphan demo meeting here tongiht! And the cool thing? My new big shot and order are to arrive today too! YIPEEE!

Just another Manic Monday.......

Is the song stuck in your head too? Because it really defines my day-

We got up at 5am, Kay took Katie to marching band at 6 am, Kasey had to be at school at 7am. I had to take him as we haven't located the bus driver to answer his phone so we know when the bus comes because school now starts at 7:30 am. (grrr) I would love to slap the person that came up with this idea because now my kids are not able to attend early morning seminary it starts at 7 am and after school isnt an option because of class commitments- my kids are NOT in extracurricular activities!  We are looking into other alternatives- then I came home and jumped on the lawnmower and ran the weed and feed across the yard, put in another load of laundry, I started sorting these horrific piles of papers I have in various places, more laundry, yardwork, more laundry more papers. Oh no! It's 2:30 time to go get the kids from school- they can't ride the bus they had a choir meeting after school- (did I mention our choir was "invited" to sing at Carnagie hall next year after school is out?) We then had to stop various places for Katie to submit her applications and resume's for work and be home quick to take Kasey back to work for 4pm and come back home to go BACK to the SCHOOL for a 7pm parents manditory meeting on drug testing of students.  Does the school think we are made of money and own an unlimited supply of gas and diesel and have unlimited time to devote only to them? GRRRRRRRRR

Anyhow- I have this wonderful treat box made by Lisa Sommerville to share with you today (my big shot and huge order will be here wed and then I can create and create and create!)

Oh- do you like Sensaria? Come on over Thursday at 1 we are having a spa afternoon here at my house! I am really going to need it after all this driving kids around!

Yes! I MADE CARDS! Lots of HAPPY DANCING GOING ON!!

It does pay to clean off the table you find all kinds of great things! I will show you the before of my table when I was in seclusion.... careful- it will probably scare you!

 

this is what happens when you strip a room and then just bring it all back in and dump it till you have time to sort and put it all away! lol .

And here is the new kit from the new catalog I found buried on the table and I sat down and messed my table back up and made 3 cards! I can't wait for my Handmade Holiday Elements kit to get here!

These are THE cutest cards- I did not stamp on them yet because I am waiting on my 1st new catalog order to arrive- Impatiently I might add!

so, if you want a fun fast easy project... I HIGHLY recommend the simply sent card kits on pages 176- 177 of the new catalog! They come without the stamps for $17.95, but it lists the coordinating stamp set on the page so you can order it if you want it. These are going to be awesome on scrap pages as well!

I feel SO GOOD that I MADE something ! lol PHEW! now to get my order here so I can go nuts! (well yes, nuttier than I already am thanks!)

Going into Seclusion

Yup you read right! After this posting this morning, I am going into my stamping studio and seclusion! School started today!! Do you hear the rejoicing in my tone? I hope so! !!!!   Kasey and Katie are both 16 and Juniors in High school=  no they are not twins-  Kasey is my stepson and Katie is mine (she is older by 3 months)  They are both great kids and it is good to have them back in school and not underfoot! lol

And now for yesterdays bounty-  salsa- beets and pickles not to mention the corn I picked from the garden and cleaned to cook for supper tonight!

see what I have been doing this week?  Well today I am posting, I have cleaned the bathroom, folded laundry and put away, started more laundry, read 11 blogs, joined www.flylady.com for clutter cleaning inspiration ( I am drowning in clutter in my office and a couple other areas that will remain nameless to protect my reputation lolol) and I have vacuumed my bedroom and made the bed!  Seclusion in my studio is what I crave because the table is drowning in clutter and if I cant find a place for it- garbage will be it's new home!  I am taking today and tomorrow for this task and then starting on Monday I will be able to CREATE! yahooooooo!  Saturday we have TWO yes 2, weddings to attend one is a wedding and the other is a reception! Holy cats!

I love when school starts for a few reasons, home alone with no one to "change my schedule", quiet time that all mom's need desperately and time for MY projects finally!  I can now start to establish a routine (I have forgotten what that is) and I can get time in on my treadmill!  Yahooo!  Ok here I go... wish me luck or should I ask for prayers? lol  have a fantastic day, I know I will!

Where's the Online Catalog?

 The online catalog has been replaced with a PDF version that can be downloaded and viewed. This is a temporary solution that allows online access to the catalog until Online Ordering is available.

You can view the online catalog on my side bar, but because of it's file size and significant download traffic, it may take a while to download. When you do download the document, make sure to save it to your hard drive so that you do not have to download it again!  Remember that online ordering is on it's way and the release date has not been given.  Just email me your order we can use pay pal for payment and it will be shipped directly to you and when you order $150.00 or more you receive FREE hostess items!

OR BETTER YET...........   let me know you want a brand new catalog I will pay pal you and ship it to you priority mail! (my favorite solution becuase you get to see all the projects too not just the stamp sets!)

Now, for my day today and yesterday-  here is what I bought at the quilt sampler shop yesterday for the quilt for my bed that I am going to make and the patterns I bought to make curtains and shades to coordinate!  I did this while Kate was in  the dentists office and my knives were being sharpened (yes! in the quilt store!) now we can really cut tomatos not just gnaw them! lol AS soon as its done will post photos of course!  Oh,  I nearly forgot-  I signed up to take a Christmas machine embroidery class next Tuesday! I will be making a snowman stocking!

 

 

Today we are making salsa, pickles and general getting ready for school starting tomorrow YIPPE!

What have I been doing lately? Well...........

YUP  Bread and butter pickles-  I am picking about 60 cucs a week! AAAAAAAAAA! lol-  Ok so now take a look at the other project!

 

Yes you are right we are painting the bedroom FINALLY after nearly 3 years!

Isnt he cute working so hard? I am truly blessed!

 

and I am still putting things away and painting trim, moving furniture back in- trying to decide what ot hang back up and what to get rid of and the fabric on the right of the bed?  will be curtains and a quilt!  We plan to get a new headboard this fall for the bed- YAY! Kay is also talking about building a corner shelf for behind the bed into the corner for storage underneath and a shelf for "stuff" (pretty stuff lol) on the top.

 

Today is dental day for Katie and school shopping well today AND tomorrow and tomorrow we are going for a mom daughter afternoon after the fillings to see the Traveling pants part 2! High school starts Thursday and both Kasey and Katie will be in the 11th grade-  holy moley!

anyhow-  this is my world so far this week!  hope you are having a fantastic week!

Friday--- phew!

What a week! Tonight Kay and I are painting the ceiling in our bedroom and then the walls tomorrow. LONG past due project since moving here.  As with all week I have either been on the road driving teenagers places (band camp or work etc) or running errands and I am one tired mama!  I also got into something a couple days ago when I was frantically pulling weeds and my scalp itches/hurts and so does around my eyes.  NEVER had that happen before and I have no clue what it is (not sunburn altho feels a lot like it!)  Picked up a couple of organizing items at Michaels and some Fall florals for my stamp room ( I like to decorate ALL the rooms in my house for the seasons and holidays!)  Stopped at penneys looking for lace curtains for living room and bought bath towels on sale instead! lol

The weather is NOT as hot as it has been (prayers answered) and life is fantastic (except for the itching on my scalp) (insert mad face here)
