Scrapbooking Room Renovation Update!

Photos taken this morning for an update!!!  Remember, I am not done putting stuff away organizing etc! Have a lot of items left to sort and put away!  The trim around the shelf unit will get done tonight or tomorrow night. Isnt it lovely? I am SO excited! And beside my TV are my container filled with cds to listen to or my DVD tutorials I have been buying!  My room measures 21 ft long by 14 ft wide.  It is dreamy and roomy and I love having classes in here!

Would love ideas for the rub ons in the photo shared- not sure if this is the arrangement I want- There will be a table and eventually a counter top along this wall for sitting at and scrapbooking where my sizzix (see in the corner of the shelving unit?) and the cuttlebug will sit all the time to use.  I have errands with friends this morning- we are off to Bylers for bulk food for food storage and then home to keep plugging away at getting organized again! lol

 

 

 

trying to "Create" lol  not sure this is where I want it but It always helps to hang it for a few days to be sure- Lisa will be over this afternoon to help me finalize my decision! lol

 

This is a rack I bought when a local scrapping store went out of business- it has to be re- organized also but it sure holds a lot of stuff! And my new motto is -  it has to be out where I can see it to use it and remember that I have it!

And the shelves are nearly finished! yippeeee

Monday night we cut and sanded the shelves for the wall unit, today I sanded again and stained, I now have 2 coats of varnish on one side and tomorrow the other 2 coats and Thursday they will be In THE UNIT with "stuff" on them!  YIPPEEE!!!!!

I am truly blessed to have a talented hubby!

I dont know why the photo of the shelves in a line that I stained are so dark- oh well you get the idea! and there are 2 more on the cart at the end that you only see the handle! lol I hope the next photo is the finished project!!

HELP! who makes these?

2 years ago at a local scrapbook store I purchased some SAGE green fabric storage boxes with NO lids they were sold in conjunction with a wooden shelving unit-   I would like to know WHO makes them so I can find an online source and get some more!!  these are NOT the Target boxes- similar but not as tall and longer in size-  If  I remember right they came in the sage, a natural and a brown color and were only sold in scrapbooking stores with the shelf units-  they come 2 to a package- if you know WHO the manufacturer is, PLEASE post to this and let me know!  thanks ! g

Garden Bounty!

As we "strolled" through the garden this afternoon for a leisurely Sunday walk, look at what we came in the house with! Cabbage 4 heads, Basil large leaf and enough to make pesto, basil cubes for freezing and to dry some too!  The next photo is beets boiling to skin & eat, and then 2 different piles hubby made of all the cucs!  Click on any photo for the larger version!

The on going project of my classroom

Hi everyone! here are a couple photo updates on my stamp room. Now that Kay isn't going back to Austin anytime soon (hes been gone 4 weeks and only home on weekends) We will be able to "finish" this project this week!

YIPPEE! No one is happier than me! lol

This is the base unit for the wall shelves Kay is building- this wall has an inset the size of the outside of this shelf unit- so what a great "built in " item to now have!

Tomorrow we will be cutting and staining the shelves and by Wed I will be able to have them all in and the trip will be around it and it will be all done and I can start putting things in it!  The bottom area is to fit my tv and dvd/cds that I want to have- you know all those tutorial dvds I keep buying? They will be in there and I can watch and create! YIPPEE!  

 The 2 book cases on the right are walmart specials we have had for a few years so I decided to paint them the same color as the walls.  The unit on the far left is just a cubicle unit I bought from a JC Penney catalog aobut 18 years ago and it moves around and I still have some pieces not in the photo but not sure I am going to resuse- anyhow painted them also- I find that now that I am putting things in the shelves, the paint is peeling abit so will buy some of that non slide lining for the shelves and keep it pretty.  One day a full counter and cupboards will be along this wall but for now this is working fine!  I will really be glad to have all of this back together by the end of the week so I can start scrapbooking again!!

Instructions

1. Round right corners of Really Rust card stock (3-1/2" x 6") using 3/16" Corner Rounder punch. Overlap Close to Cocoa card stock (1-1/2" x 6") over left edge of Really Rust card stock, and adhere. Sew around edge of Really Rust card stock, sewing Close to Cocoa card stock to left edge of Really Rust card stock.
2. Stamp "Thankful thoughts" in Really Rust ink on Really Rust card stock.
3. Line up rounded corners of Really Rust card stock with round corners of notebook cover. Fold left, unsewn edge of Close to Cocoa card stock around spine of notebook. Adhere both pieces to notebook cover.
4. Stamp Thank U image in Really Rust ink on Really Rust card stock (2" x 2"), and cut out parenthesis. Adhere to notebook to frame title.
5. Stamp circle flower image twice in Really Rust ink on Really Rust card stock (3" x 2"), and cut out flower portion.
6. Round right corners of Wild Wasabi card stock (2-1/4" x 1"). Mask dotted circle portion of circle flower image, and stamp image in Wild Wasabi ink on right edge of card stock. Adhere one Really Rust flower over Wild Wasabi flower.
7. Fold left edge of Wild Wasabi card stock around spine of notebook, and adhere. Pierce notebook cover through center of Really Rust flower using paper-piercing tool from Crafters' Tool Kit. Attach Silver brad through hole.
8. Stamp boho pattern image in Close to Cocoa and Wild Wasabi ink on corresponding card stock (2-1/2" x 2-1/2" each), and cut out.
9. Stamp circle flower image in Close to Cocoa, River Rock, and Wild Wasabi ink on corresponding card stock (2" x 2" each). Punch out River Rock and Wild Wasabi circles using 1-1/4" Circle punch. Cut out Close to Cocoa flower.
10. Layer Wild Wasabi boho pattern, River Rock circle, and Close to Cocoa flower to create one flower, and Close to Cocoa boho pattern, Wild Wasabi circle, and previously cut out Really Rust flower to create second flower. Attach Silver brad to center of each.
11. Slightly bend two pieces of Silver Wire Works, and tie Wild Wasabi ribbon around each. Adhere wire to back side of flowers. Adhere flowers to notebook using Stampin' Dimensionals.
